The anniversary of the United States independence and the year the apartheid regime made their biggest mistake, which led to their demise! That year, the apartheid regime (whites) attempted to force African students to learn their language, Afrikaans. This was the "last straw" and the blacks and coloreds refused and their parents pulled their kids out of school en masse in protest! This was the first time blacks and coloreds banded together and, literally, as a result, Africa became two classes instead of three. This garnered some media attention in the rest of the world and foreign countries began to impose sanctions against Africa. By 1988, the apartheid regime was bankrupt!
